For North American models only.  Professional installation is recommended, dealer programming is required for some models.  Fits the following models:

  • Boxster (2005 - 2008)
  • 911 Carrera  / GT2 / GT3 (2005 - 2008)
  • 911 Turbo (2006 - 2008)
  • Cayman (2006 - 2008)

Installation Notes:
    • Having Installation Issues?  DO NOT CALL US!  Contact your local Porsche dealer to have this radio installed properly.  There are many facets to this installation.  If there are ANY hurdles, your Porsche dealer MUST contact Porsche's technical support line to solve any glitches, make modifications, or update software/firmware.  We can NOT assist you with this remotely, and we can assure you that the radio is not defective.  Porsche's technical support line is experienced with all of the common pitfalls and tricks of this installation.
    • Dealer Installation - Depending on your vehicles equipment, dealer programming will be required.  Dealer installation and activation is highly recommended.
    • Self Installation - Do so at your own risk.  This is a technical installation, not for the average radio installer.  If you have any issues during the installation, Suncoast will not provide technical support.  You will have to contact your local Porsche dealership for any technical support at an additional cost.  Based on our experience these radios don't fail, but missing a step during the installation process can cause loss of sound, reception issues, and other glitches.
    • Pre-Existing Conditions - If you currently have issues with your factory audio system, get them resolved before you add this radio.  If there is an aftermarket radio in your car, we recommend converting back to your stock radio first to ensure that the factory audio system is fully functional, and make sure your vehicles wiring harness has not been cut or modified.  Any unresolved issues or modifications to the wiring harness could make it difficult, costly, or impossible to install this radio.

Suncoast Note:  It's not possible to add a back-up camera.  If you have multifunction steering wheel controls, they will still function.  If your car has a console mounted telephone handset (very rare), it will not be compatible with this system.  To use Apple CarPlay or Google Android Auto, the phone must be connected via cable in the USB port.  Ready for SIRIUS/XM, but a separate SIRIUS/XM control unit & antenna must be purchased from SIRIUS/XM directly (not included).

Great unit for my « classic » Cayman
(Pennsylvania) | May 12th, 2024
Prompt and well-packaged unit from Suncoast, but as as noted, no installation instructions come in the box. Installed it ourselves (husband & I, both engineers) in my 2008 Cayman with Bose, replaced original CDR24. Youtube is your friend, many good detailed installation videos, along with forum posts from Planet-9 and Rennlist. The hardest part is getting the original unit out, involves a few allen wrenches and a screwdriver. Connections are pretty straightforward, plug & play. We also added a separate SiriusXM tuner, easy connection. Looks and sounds amazing !

Looks factory
(Kentucky) | April 29th, 2024
Installed myself in about 2 hours. More time spent in being careful with interior panels removal and set up of unit before installing (cables and brackets). Added backup camera with a a Fakra to RCA cable and adding a 12v wire to trigger pin 6 as outlined on many videos. No issues with install. Plug and Play. Looks absolutely factory. No regrets. Very fast shipping. Installed in a 2006 987 Boxster, base.
Searching for answers.

I have been looking for answers to the questions posted by other reviewers. I know this is a review blog but it appears they like myself have been seeking the info as well. My dealer has a display with the 993 and 996 PCCM but not the 997. Along with the questions already asked by others I’m wondering if this unit is as smart as the one in my ‘17 958.2? Will if display vehicle info and allow setting for all things to be adjusted. Does it display trip info? TPMS readings? You all the good stuff or is it just a upgrade for CarPlay mostly. I can’t seem to find any detailed info.
Wondering if the unit is turning off with the car now as per the message from Apr 2023

Was there any more to the story? Also wondering if Mark can share which dealer did the install in Massachusetts?
Quesion Does this integrate with the dashboard display
(St Paul MN) | September 25th, 2023
Does this integrate into the dashboard display like (or hopefully better than) my Cdr24 radio... My current radio shows the radio station information on the dash display..
Not a Review - Technical Question
(SF Bay Area) | July 18th, 2023
My car has the 6-disc CD changer in the frunk? Does this new PCCM support continued utilization of the changer? I know it is old tech, but I do enjoy going through my old collection.
Reverse Camara

Will this unit support SiriusXM or does it just play from my phone?

Doesn't turn off
(Massachusetts) | April 22nd, 2023
I was excited to get this unit because the original screen in my 2007 911 is so dated. The unit comes with Apple car play which I've enjoyed using on other cars. I had the unit installed by my local Porsche dealer. .They said all of the cables matched and it was plug and play. Unfortunately when the car is turned off the radio stays on draining the car battery.
Note From Suncoast: Sorry to hear you're having trouble. We haven't heard of this one before, there could be more to the story. Please contact our customer service team, we would like to speak with your installing dealer to find more information.
Will it support SiriusXM?
(Houston, TX) | January 13th, 2023
I already upgraded my old PCM that had a bad screen with an Alpine. I've already installed a backup camera, voice control, and SiriusXM. It would be nice if the new radio supports those items.
