Finally a solution to the rusty hinge barn door syndrome on the 991 ! Shockingly, it's also very affordable by Porsche standards. The old door "check strap" was squeaking like a 1990 Hyundai's which was not in keeping with the Porsche's character. Grease made a mess but did not fix anything long term. This is a superseeding part apparently, and it made the doors quiet... For those who hesitate, installation is a breeze... Door panels on a 991 come off in 2 minutes - 3 trim pieces, 4 torx bolts, slide up and out... you then only need to remove some clips of the inner door panel - just enough to squeeze your hand in and pull out the old door guide, and insert the new one - it's a 2/10 difficulty level, you just need the right tools - torx and a 12 pt star bit for the door guide's attachment to the A pillar. Watch a Youtube video on the door panel and go from there - 15 minute job max - blessed silence !
