The perfect balance between the Race Exhaust System's all-out aggression and the Valved Exhaust System's refined daily usability — Soul Performance's Header & Muffler Package combines long tube headers with their bespoke valved rear exhaust for a complete system that delivers refined aggression on demand with volume controlled entirely by your right foot. Higher-pitched, smoother sound under all conditions, with a noticeable and satisfying delta between valves open and valves closed.
Soul Performance's bespoke billet CNC merge collectors and long tube runners optimize flow from the headers into a large-diameter X-pipe with valves open, and into a uniquely engineered X-chamber muffler with valves closed — the same muffler design found in their standalone Valved Exhaust System, now benefiting from the dramatically improved header flow path upstream.
Headers
Removing the factory headers eliminates the restrictive cat assemblies, particulate filters, and the oversized 7⅝" factory connection point. Soul Performance's billet CNC head flanges deliver a more efficient transition from exhaust ports into the runners while adding extra strength in a high-stress area — preventing cracking from repeated hard use during track days. A bespoke billet merge collector designed from CAD to CNC maximizes runner length and eliminates several welds for improved durability. V-band connection points replace the factory 991-generation connection requiring costly OEM clamps and donut gaskets.
Rear Exhaust Section
With valves open, exhaust flows freely through 3" piping and an X-pipe that merges the exhaust banks for a higher-pitched, smooth sound with maximum flow characteristics. With valves closed, exhaust is routed through the bespoke Soul Performance muffler — straight-through perforated piping allows exhaust gases to escape into surrounding packing material with virtually no restriction, while an internal X-pipe allows exhaust flow to merge smoothly. This reduces and smooths drone below 3,000 RPM while enhancing the higher-pitched note Soul Performance was targeting in both valve conditions.
A key engineering detail — even with valves open, some exhaust flow still passes through the secondary muffler path, utilizing it to smooth tone and drone in valves-open mode as well. This allowed Soul Performance to go aggressive on the primary valves-open flow path design without requiring additional resonators or mufflers. Catted and catless sections are interchangeable — a tip plate matching 991 GT3 style allows tip assemblies to be switched at any time.
Valve Control
The 992 GT3's electronic valve actuators cannot be simply removed or disconnected — doing so causes check engine lights and performance issues. Soul Performance's included hardware ensures proper valve operation and prevents any chance of issues. Factory valve programming keeps valves closed until 4,000 RPM, gradually opening through 5,000 RPM. For full valve override at wide open throttle regardless of RPM, ECU tuning is available.
Sound
A smooth, refined experience from low-RPM casual driving all the way to wide open throttle — higher-pitched and more refined in the low end than a muffler-less system, comfortable below 4,000 RPM with a reasonable level of cabin presence. With valves closed, volume is increased by a refined amount over the dull, hollow factory exhaust note — smoother and more exciting without being overbearing. Aggressive and authoritative when the valves open at 4,000 RPM — a streetable, reasonable level of volume on command compared to a muffler-less system that is loud at all times.
Optional Ceramic Coating
Jet-Hot ceramic coating is available for specific configurations at additional cost. Extreme (1300) or Ultra Extreme Heat (2500) coatings can lower surrounding temperatures by up to 65% and protect against thermal oxidation and corrosion. Contact us for a quote.
HJS HD 200-Cell Catalysts
Soul Performance uses HJS HD 200-cell catalytic converters — the finest performance catalysts available. The HD design features premium triple-foil winding for maximum strength and a brazing stripe that prevents the core from moving or sustaining damage under sustained high-horsepower use. Meets strict Euro 4 emission standards.
Construction & Quality
Soul Performance assembles each system in-house at their Willow Grove, PA facility from mandrel-bent T304L .065" thick-wall stainless steel. Billet 304L stainless steel head flanges and merge collector are precision-cut on a 5-axis CNC machine. Back-purged TIG welding using ARCAL™ Prime argon gas ensures proper weld penetration and long-term durability. Thick-gauge aluminum fixtures are used during fabrication to prevent warping and guarantee perfect fitment. Every set is rigorously quality-checked and foam-packed for safe delivery.
