Factory kit to improve track day performance - Includes aerodynamic, suspension, brake, and cooling upgrades.
The Manthey performance kit for the 911 GT2 RS (type 991) was developed in close cooperation between the Porsche development center in Weissach and Manthey-Racing GmbH. Thanks to coordinated chassis, aerodynamic and brake components as well as the lightweight GT2 RS magnesium wheels (not included), it was possible to fine-tune the breathtaking performance of the 991 GT2 RS even more precisely to the requirements of track days and tourist trips.
Aerodymanic Package
The technology and know-how from Porsche and Manthey's motorsport experience were incorporated into the development of the aerodynamics package. In addition, individual components were developed with a view to the set performance goals. At the front, for example, the use of a carbon underbody, additional air control elements in the area of the front wheels and the flaps on the front apron increased the downforce from 49 kg to 70 kg at a speed of 200 km / h. With the help of the rear wing in combination with the rear diffuser and the aerodiscs, which are all made of carbon, the downforce level of the rear end is increased from 93 kg to 200 kg at 200 km / h, which further improves driving stability. The aerodiscs on the rear wheels reduce turbulence in the rear end and have a positive effect on aerodynamic efficiency. In order to take account of the higher aerodynamic load caused by the rear wing, the rear end is massively stiffened. The rear wing itself is connected directly to the body with the help of special supports (standard: connection of the wing to the boot lid). The aerodynamics package shifts the aerobalance and increases total downforce by 70%. The aerodynamics package was tested in the wind tunnel in Weissach, among other things, which is still one of the most modern of its kind: The eight meter diameter fan has extremely light carbon blades and can generate wind speeds of up to 300 km / h in the test section on the tested vehicle . During an aerodynamic measurement, the lane simulation under the test object and its surroundings are moved with the speed of the wind.
Coil-Over Suspension
Both know-how and technology from Porsche and Manthey's many years of experience in GT racing were incorporated into the development of the coilover kit. A McPherson upside-down construction is used on the front axle. The shock absorber has a housing tube made of high-strength aluminum so that it can reliably and long-term perform its wheel control function even on the racetrack. The damping unit is 3-way adjustable, the aluminum support bearings also allow easy adjustment of the camber values on the front axle. The independent pressure level setting in low and high speed is carried out on the external reservoir using the adjustment wheels, which can be operated without tools. The rebound stage can also be adjusted using an adjusting wheel at the lower end of the damper housing. If the vehicle has a standard front axle lift system, the function is fully retained. An aluminum strut is used on the rear axle. The four-way adjustable damper (compression and rebound, each in low and high speed) can be adjusted directly on the damper housing using adjustment wheels that can be operated without tools. The basic setup of the high-end chassis components was determined in countless laps on international racetracks, especially the Nürburgring-Nordschleife, and meticulously coordinated by the engineers from Porsche and Manthey.
Brake Package
The racing brake pad for the PCCB ceramic brake system improves the fading properties as well as the response behavior and the controllability. The brake lining is characterized by constant friction behavior over a wide temperature range and very good wear behavior with little disc attack. The brake line set with steel sheathing ensures even more direct pedal feedback and an associated faster response time. This component of the performance kit was also tested and co-developed by Manthey on the Nordschleife.
Water Tank
An additional water tank for the charge air cooling increases the series volume by around 9 liters and ensures that the range between water refills is significantly increased. As a result, it enables longer cooling of the intake air temperature with the aim of achieving maximum power output.
