If you need a cup holder, here is an OEM solution. For early model Boxsters and Carreras, this is a direct fit. Please check your car to see if there are extra holes by the vent-slats. If so, these will snap into place.

As great as these are when they work, I've gone through several over the years as they seem to separate at the seam and fall apart while driving. I finally super glued the folding mechanism in place to remedy this. Exploring the in-dash options.
