Note: Can also be used on S / C4S models with the 3.8 engine, please read below and select optional hardware ($75) **. Not recommend for systems that already have the PSE "Sport" exhaust.

Following on from our well-received Shark Werks 997 GT3, Turbo and Carrera exhaust designs we have now applied our customary Shark-bite to the Porsche 991 Carrera 3.4L non-S model. In stock form the car has been accused of sounding high-pitched, tinny and too mechanical in comparison to S models, especially with their deeper sounding PSE options.

3-D CAD designed with optimal flow, fit, weight savings and sound enhancement, our system replaces the center muffler on any Porsche 3.4L and 3.8L 991 Carrera. By utilizing appropriately-sized diameter tubing and straightening out the flow, we achieved our desired sound and minimized resonance. Our direct bolt-on exhaust installs into the factory location without any modification or compromise and is completely reversible. An overall weight saving of 7 pounds is achieved with a more aggressive idle and outside bark with a deeper tone. On the inside you can still talk on the phone and/or listen to the radio without any compromise. When you apply aggressive throttle you can hear a more exciting pitch and tone. Playing around with the throttle induces crackles and deeper howls more fitting for a 911.

The stock center muffler does not utilize a straight-through design and instead collects and merges in the center (hence you can often see a hot spot in the center) causing the sound to be more muted than some would like. Expect slightly better performance due to optimized exhaust gas flow.

As with all previous Shark Werks exhausts, this system is 50-state emissions compliant but also does not cause any check engine lights (MIL Codes) as it is designed to continue to operate with the factory catalyst and emissions equipment.

Designed and crafted in Northern California, the Shark Werks exhaust utilizes stainless- 18 gauge T304 tungsten inert gas welded stainless steel with mandrel bends and factory equivalent hardware.

Some cars, especially with higher mileage, may experience a slight increase in vibration (especially on PDK-equipped cars) when idling at a stop in Drive mode. These vibrations usually occur due to build-up from the oil breather in the throttle body, which can be alleviated by cleaning the throttle plate and bore. Additionally we have seen instances where the OEM (Bosch) Throttle Body has a defective bore/plate and with a little wobble or play in the throttle body, needs to be replaced after as a little as 15k miles. Inspect this carefully if you notice any vibration on these models. Most 991 cars with 30,000+ miles should have this cleaned, as even a tiny amount of build-up can effect the idle speed. We also recommend changing the spark plugs at the same time, which can make a significant difference in how smooth the car runs at idle. We have also noticed that the engine will run smoothest in Sport  or Sport Plus mode due to the increased idle speed.

Features:

  • Designed in-house and manufactured in Northern California
  • Improved, more aggressive sporty sound (see videos above)
  • Does not interfere with SMOG emissions and 50 state legal
  • Factory headers, catalysts and side mufflers retained
  • 3-D CAD designed factory fit direct bolt-on replacing factory side exhausts
  • Compatible with either the stock or aftermarket tips
  • 7 pound weight savings from the rear of the car.
  • 18 gauge T304 tungsten inert gas welded stainless steel mandrel-bent C.N.C construction for durability and flow.

** Note: If your Carrera S / C4S 3.8L did not come with the Porsche Sport Exhaust (PSE) and you are looking for a little more volume / exotic tone and burbles, this pipe will accomplish your goal. It will however change the exhaust so only one side of the current "dual tip" is functional; thus looking at the car from low to the ground / behind the car, you will see that only one side of the tip is functional. This has no negative impact on sound or performance.

Porsche Parts Warranty Information — Suncoast Porsche

Understanding your warranty coverage is important. Below is a complete overview of warranty terms for Genuine Porsche OEM parts, aftermarket parts, and closeout items purchased from Suncoast Porsche and SuncoastParts.com.

Warranty Coverage by Product Type

Genuine Porsche OEM Parts — 2-Year Warranty

All Genuine Porsche OEM parts purchased from Suncoast Porsche or SuncoastParts.com come with a 2-year, unlimited mileage, parts-only warranty beginning on the date of purchase.

If your parts are installed at an authorized Porsche Service Center, both parts and labor warranty coverage may apply if the part is deemed defective within the 2-year warranty period. Coverage varies by location — please check with your local Porsche dealer prior to installation to confirm their specific warranty participation, as each Porsche Center is independently owned and operated.

Important warranty notes for online purchases:

  • Labor, diagnostic, and installation fees are not covered when parts are purchased online from SuncoastParts.com or Suncoast Porsche, unless the parts are installed by an authorized Porsche Service Center
  • Warranty claims must be processed in person at an authorized Porsche Service Center
  • Warranty service is honored at any authorized Porsche dealer in the United States, however some dealers may decline warranty claims for parts purchased online or from another dealership — always verify with your local dealer before installation
  • If a warranty claim is approved and the part was not installed by a Porsche Service Center, installation of the replacement part remains the customer's responsibility
  • Suncoast Porsche and SuncoastParts.com are not liable for any diagnostic, labor, or installation fees charged by another Porsche Service Center

Aftermarket & Performance Parts

Warranty coverage for aftermarket and performance parts varies by manufacturer. Most carry a 1-year limited warranty. Contact us for specific warranty details on any aftermarket product. Please note that diagnostic time and labor costs for warranty replacements are not covered.

Take-Off & Closeout Parts

All take-off and closeout parts are sold as-is with no warranty and are not eligible for return. Pricing on these items reflects their as-is condition.

What This Warranty Does Not Cover

The following situations and conditions are explicitly excluded from warranty coverage:

  • Improper Installation or Misuse — Damage resulting from incorrect installation, negligence, unauthorized alteration, or accident. This includes any use in racing, competition, or motorsport applications
  • Lack of Proper Maintenance — Damage caused by failure to follow the vehicle's recommended Maintenance Schedule, or failure to use the correct fluids, fuel, oil, or lubricants as specified in the Owner's Manual. Proof of proper maintenance is the owner's responsibility — retain all service receipts in case questions arise
  • Consequential or Economic Losses — Towing fees, rental vehicles, loss of use, loss of time, inconvenience, or any other indirect economic losses
  • Vehicles Outside the USA & Canada — Parts installed on vehicles registered or primarily operated outside of the United States or Canada are not covered under this warranty

How to Obtain Warranty Service

Installed by an Authorized Porsche Dealer

If your parts were originally installed by an authorized Porsche dealer, warranty repairs may be performed by that same dealer or any other authorized Porsche Service Center in the United States. Please allow a reasonable timeframe for repairs after delivering your vehicle to the dealership.

Installed by an Independent Repair Shop

Please be aware: All warranty claims must be inspected, performed, and documented by factory-trained Porsche technicians at an authorized Porsche dealership. Work performed at an independent repair shop does not qualify for warranty consideration. If warranty coverage is a priority, we strongly recommend having your parts installed at an authorized Porsche Service Center.

Documentation Requirements for Warranty Claims

To process a warranty claim, the servicing Porsche dealer will require:

  • Your original sales receipt or order confirmation from SuncoastParts.com or Suncoast Porsche
  • A completed warranty certificate
  • Proof of proper vehicle maintenance history (if applicable)

Suncoast Porsche retains sales records on file for two years. If you need a copy of your receipt, contact us and we will provide it promptly.

Additional Warranty Terms & Legal Disclaimers

This warranty provides you with specific legal rights. You may also have additional rights that vary by state.

Porsche does not authorize any individual or organization to create additional obligations or liabilities beyond those stated in this warranty. Any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose is limited in duration to the term of this written warranty. The exclusive remedy under this warranty is the repair or replacement of the defective part.

Suncoast Porsche and SuncoastParts.com shall not be liable for any incidental or consequential damages arising from a breach of this written warranty or any implied warranty.

Some states do not permit limitations on implied warranty duration or the exclusion of incidental or consequential damages — the above limitations may not apply in your state. Additionally, installation of certain parts or accessories may affect your Porsche New Vehicle Warranty. Please consult your authorized Porsche dealer for full terms, or contact us with any questions.
