Service was fast and easy. Installation is easy if you're a gymnast, but still not too bad. Works great so far.
Quick Fix for "Depress Clutch Pedal" Problem

My 987.1 Cayman was not turning over consistently and I was receiving the "Depress Clutch Pedal" alert even though I had it pinned to the floor. As a matter of convenience I had my Indy check it out when it was in for other maintenance. No fault was found nor did the DME reflect this intermittent malfunction. I "lived" with it for another year and read about other experiences on Planet-9 and ordered up the part that was recommended. I've used Suncoast for other DIY parts on the Porsche and was confident with having this problem resolved. Sure enough, 15 minutes after receipt I installed the switch and the car started right up. No problems since!

I replaced the clutch pedal starting switch and thus far the problem I had with the ignition not turning over has gone away. Previously I could count up to over 1 minute with the key turned to the start position before the ignition would start to turn over. I am thrilled this part did the trick/

I had installed a new chip in the car and after a few months it would take time to start draining the battery down at times. I always thought it was the new chip. Instead after a little google research I found this to be a common problem. I ordered one and they were the cheapest around. Easy to install and it starts up every time now.

This is the part you need to fix that problem. A little tricky to switch out but not terrible. Quick delivery from SunCoast.

I ordered the Clutch Pedal Ignition Lock Switch from Suncoast. It took them 3 days to ship the part. The part was received and the price was descent. I believe they should work on their order processing system. I was expecting to get the product the next day since I'm within driving distance of Suncoast, but instead I got it the next week (ordered product on Wednesday, received product on the following Monday).

If you are getting the 'Depress clutch' dash warning when trying to start the car, despite having the clutch in, this could be the culprit. This part is known to wear out. Replacing it is theoretically easy, unplug wires and unscrew. However, getting up under the dash is a tight squeeze. Once I was able to get the new part in, my car started right up again.

Replaced switch to address the 'depress clutch pedal' message even though pedal is fully down. Easy DIY project. Only difficult part is working on your side or upside down in order to reach bolt holding switch bracket in place. Part is perfect match and is genuine Porsche

Porsche Parts Warranty Information — Suncoast Porsche

Understanding your warranty coverage is important. Below is a complete overview of warranty terms for Genuine Porsche OEM parts, aftermarket parts, and closeout items purchased from Suncoast Porsche and SuncoastParts.com.

Warranty Coverage by Product Type

Genuine Porsche OEM Parts — 2-Year Warranty

All Genuine Porsche OEM parts purchased from Suncoast Porsche or SuncoastParts.com come with a 2-year, unlimited mileage, parts-only warranty beginning on the date of purchase.

If your parts are installed at an authorized Porsche Service Center, both parts and labor warranty coverage may apply if the part is deemed defective within the 2-year warranty period. Coverage varies by location — please check with your local Porsche dealer prior to installation to confirm their specific warranty participation, as each Porsche Center is independently owned and operated.

Important warranty notes for online purchases:

  • Labor, diagnostic, and installation fees are not covered when parts are purchased online from SuncoastParts.com or Suncoast Porsche, unless the parts are installed by an authorized Porsche Service Center
  • Warranty claims must be processed in person at an authorized Porsche Service Center
  • Warranty service is honored at any authorized Porsche dealer in the United States, however some dealers may decline warranty claims for parts purchased online or from another dealership — always verify with your local dealer before installation
  • If a warranty claim is approved and the part was not installed by a Porsche Service Center, installation of the replacement part remains the customer's responsibility
  • Suncoast Porsche and SuncoastParts.com are not liable for any diagnostic, labor, or installation fees charged by another Porsche Service Center

Aftermarket & Performance Parts

Warranty coverage for aftermarket and performance parts varies by manufacturer. Most carry a 1-year limited warranty. Contact us for specific warranty details on any aftermarket product. Please note that diagnostic time and labor costs for warranty replacements are not covered.

Take-Off & Closeout Parts

All take-off and closeout parts are sold as-is with no warranty and are not eligible for return. Pricing on these items reflects their as-is condition.

What This Warranty Does Not Cover

The following situations and conditions are explicitly excluded from warranty coverage:

  • Improper Installation or Misuse — Damage resulting from incorrect installation, negligence, unauthorized alteration, or accident. This includes any use in racing, competition, or motorsport applications
  • Lack of Proper Maintenance — Damage caused by failure to follow the vehicle's recommended Maintenance Schedule, or failure to use the correct fluids, fuel, oil, or lubricants as specified in the Owner's Manual. Proof of proper maintenance is the owner's responsibility — retain all service receipts in case questions arise
  • Consequential or Economic Losses — Towing fees, rental vehicles, loss of use, loss of time, inconvenience, or any other indirect economic losses
  • Vehicles Outside the USA & Canada — Parts installed on vehicles registered or primarily operated outside of the United States or Canada are not covered under this warranty

How to Obtain Warranty Service

Installed by an Authorized Porsche Dealer

If your parts were originally installed by an authorized Porsche dealer, warranty repairs may be performed by that same dealer or any other authorized Porsche Service Center in the United States. Please allow a reasonable timeframe for repairs after delivering your vehicle to the dealership.

Installed by an Independent Repair Shop

Please be aware: All warranty claims must be inspected, performed, and documented by factory-trained Porsche technicians at an authorized Porsche dealership. Work performed at an independent repair shop does not qualify for warranty consideration. If warranty coverage is a priority, we strongly recommend having your parts installed at an authorized Porsche Service Center.

Documentation Requirements for Warranty Claims

To process a warranty claim, the servicing Porsche dealer will require:

  • Your original sales receipt or order confirmation from SuncoastParts.com or Suncoast Porsche
  • A completed warranty certificate
  • Proof of proper vehicle maintenance history (if applicable)

Suncoast Porsche retains sales records on file for two years. If you need a copy of your receipt, contact us and we will provide it promptly.

Additional Warranty Terms & Legal Disclaimers

This warranty provides you with specific legal rights. You may also have additional rights that vary by state.

Porsche does not authorize any individual or organization to create additional obligations or liabilities beyond those stated in this warranty. Any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose is limited in duration to the term of this written warranty. The exclusive remedy under this warranty is the repair or replacement of the defective part.

Suncoast Porsche and SuncoastParts.com shall not be liable for any incidental or consequential damages arising from a breach of this written warranty or any implied warranty.

Some states do not permit limitations on implied warranty duration or the exclusion of incidental or consequential damages — the above limitations may not apply in your state. Additionally, installation of certain parts or accessories may affect your Porsche New Vehicle Warranty. Please consult your authorized Porsche dealer for full terms, or contact us with any questions.
