Clear Side Markers Lights - LED (991, 981, & 718) SKU: SKU991LEDSIDES

The posted video portrays the removal of the OEM as a simple task...it wasn't for me; and I struggled to get a grip on the OEM light in order to depress the spring clip at the back of the light and release the front tab on the backside. If you cannot get a good grip on the OEM side marker light to slide it rearward, take a length of duct tape (about 2 inches longer than the side marker) and attach it to the surface of the lens. Just press it against the surface of the light (and not the surface of fender) You can then grip the end of duct tape and more-easily slide the side marker light rearward to unhook the front tab of the light. Once I stuck the tape to the lens, it was an easy task to remove the OEM lights. These side marker lights are much better looking than the OEM amber units.

No idea if this is a Porsche part, but they look nice. Once you figure-out how to get them out, the install is very easy. Pull the light towards the rear of the car and pull front out. Might need a plastic tool to get it to pop out. You do NOT need a screwdriver (geez, that guy in the video...). Just push on the outer side of the electrical connector and it slides right off. Put the new light near the hole, click the connector and snap the light back in. 5 minute job.

I ordered + installed these on my 981 a few weeks ago while it waits for the salt and snow to disappear here in Michigan. Love how they look vs. stock and the installation was mostly simple. One caveat that I wanted to point out -- in Suncoast's video, the slack in the wiring is at least twice, but maybe three times longer than what was in my 2013 Boxster S. This made installation a bit more difficult, but obviously not impossible. I also had to apply quite a bit more pressure to remove the stock indicators from their mounting points. Overall, very happy with this upgrade and would recommend it to any other 981/718 owner looking to spice up their car a bit.

I am not a very mechanical kind of person, but this install was the simplest after watching the video. Took less than 5 minutes to replace both sides. What a difference, great upgrade.

Although the dealer warned of the short wiring, I found this very easy to install -- took less than 5 minutes per side, and that included watching the 'how to' video again! They look great on my white Boxster S, big improvement. The LED lighting looks so much better.
