Replacement Gas Cap (997/987/996/986) SKU: PK9X7GASCAP

Excellent replacement OEM style fuel cap. Unfortunately, the tether extended out into the extreme edges of the plastic opaque envelope in which it was packed. Cutting open the envelope resulted in severing the tether. My original did not have a tether either. Would be nice to have an intact tether, but not worth buying another cap. If you buy this, be careful upon opening.

A gas cap? How to review it? Yes, it works. It seems to work quite well. The ordering process was seamless and delivery prompt. All in all, a good deal--and something my car needed.

Gas cap arrived and quality duplicates exactly the original Porsche equip. Haven't installed yet as it is my backup.

Simple, good quality, perfect fit

This is an exact match and replacement for my '07 Cayman S. Very simple to remove the old cap with a broken lanyard, and replace. If you don't already know, the simple trick to remove the push pin, is to take a small allen key or similar of a slightly smaller diameter of the pin, and just push it through (towards the car). The pin will fall out and be caught by the sheet metal. Then pull the rivet part out and swap everything over. Simple and less than 5 mins. to install. Works great and don't forget to use the hook on the fuel door to catch you cap when you fill up.

The fuel cap tether cable broke on my 2006 Carrera 4S Cab after 10 faithful years of service. This took just a few minutes to install. The plastic rivet need to secure the tether to the car is included. As an added benefit I got a fresh new fuel cap too! This is great because the 10 year old rubber seal on my old cap was a Check Engine Light waiting to happen.
