Key heads are not returnable under any circumstance. Dealer activation is required. For this model, no codes are included! The installing dealer must retrieve your vehicles specific learning & enabling codes from Porsche to program this unit.

Key Head Guts Swap

Yes, you can swap the guts from an earlier key to the new housing so no programming is required. However, be aware that the immobilizer 'chip' is glued in place and requires a bit of luck to remove without damaging the housing. I had to destroy the old housing (no problem since the housing was cracked) to get the chip out of the old housing.
