997 Shift Console Upgrade (986/996) SKU: 997SCU

Very satisfied, slighter shorter shift, more precise, easy to install there are plenty of instruction on the internet, remember there is a hidden screw under the coin holder. Took me around two hours to install.

I have a 99 996 C2Cab. Easy install, Porsche Club has a nice DIY video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6yoB7eX5sR4) Took about 1.5 hours. Feel is tighter, but not radical, moderate change in throw and to me, it was well worth doing as my old shifter had gotten mushy. As "plug and play" as you can get versus racing shifters where you are tearing bearings apart.

Should be the first thing done to any 996. Super easy to install -- way smoother and more precise than original shifter (which felt long, sloppy and fragile)

Install went very smooth. Very nice upgrade for 996, mine is a 2003 C4S with 50k miles. Smoother shift and slightly shorter throw. Wish I'd done this year's ago!

1999 Base Boxster. I was a little hesitant when I ordered this - was going to go for the B&M short shift. No regrets anymore! Wow, what a change from my original shifter. Installation took two hours start to finish and that's with cleaning up what was under the console and tightening up my parking brake cable. Shifting is crisp, clean, and precise, what a difference from the old shifter. Be sure to mark the cable position with a Sharpie before you take them out of the original cable ends. Otherwise very straight forward installation. Highly recommended. Thanks Suncoast!

Fantastic. Used this as a replacement for the shifter on my 996 C4S. 55K on the car and the shifting is much more precise. Wasn't awful to start, but made it much more concrete. Highly recommended upgrade. Pretty easy to install, too. Use the B+M short shifter installation instructions.

Easy installation, substantial improvement in feel, distance and feedback. Nothing iffy about being in gear. Much less play in the knob when in gear.

I received my shifter in 3-4 days (good).Removed console and cleaned area installed and adjusted shifter and reinstalled console, in less than 1.5 hrs. Very Easy!! And now i have a brand new tight shift instead of a 14 yr old slop shifter. Great Value
