Historic Entry & Drive Key Plug

Porsche - a sports car manufacturer that has "raceborn" in its DNA. The perpetual aspiration of lightweight construction and sporty driving is therefore present in every development.
With the historic ignition starter switch, Porsche has developed a tribute to historic races and has set itself the task of preserving the Porsche tradition of the "ignition key on the left". It was designed together with Studio F.A. Porsche Zell am See. Visually, it is reminiscent of the historic key head as used in the sports prototypes. For optimum stability and durability, it was milled from a single piece of aluminum. In order to protect the material, but also to recall the silver look of the aluminium bodies from the early days of Porsche motorsport, it was anodized in a clear finish. With 5 holes, finished with Porsche logos on both sides, the historic ignition starter switch brings a touch of racing history to the Porsche sports cars of today.

Fits the following models with the optional Entry & Drive system:
- Boxster Models 2013-2025
- Cayman Models 2013-2025
- 911 Carrera Models 2013-2019
- Cayenne Models 2011-2018
- Panamera Models 2009-2016

Not returnable. Unsure of your Porsche's options? If your car does not have Entry & Drive, this piece will not start the car. Contact us with your VIN number and we will be happy to verify your options.

Installation Note: Turn your old key plug to the far left and hold it that way for 30 seconds. You will hear a click that unlocks the mechanism and you can then remove it. In some cases, the actual remote control key must be outside the car and out of range on the vehicle.

Prioritises design over practicality

Looks and feels really cool. Turns starting your car into a real event. But so stiff in operation at first I thought I'd installed it wrongly. Mine's so sticky you almost have to rotate it manually back anticlockwise after the engine fires. Hopefully it'll become smoother with use. See Steve McQueen starting his 917 at Le Mans using the lightweight (and flimsy) aluminium key this one pays homage to at 3:04 in https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Bo553eNdIY
