Our founder and designer, Prof. F. A. Porsche, once said: “If we wanted something, we had to make it ourselves.” And this is exactly how this very special timepiece was created, in a very special place, by hand and with great attention to detail – in the Porsche dedicated watch factory in Solothurn, Switzerland, founded in 2014. This is where the expertise of sports car and watch experts comes together to create a perfect symbiosis between the two disciplines, in doing so combining the highest standards of aesthetics with unbeatable performance and precision craftsmanship. The result: watches that extend the fascination of Porsche far beyond the road.
The Chronograph 911 Sport Classic is characterised by loving design details that are inspired by the special vehicle model. It truly is a “sports car on your wrist”.
The straps in classic black and elegant classic cognac are each included in two lengths and are based on the interior of the sports car – they are made of the same leather used in the interior of the limited series and are finished with a “911” embossing. A quick-change system means that the leather straps can easily be swapped without having to use specialised tools. What’s more, the Porsche Design icon on the dial is gold – just like the special limited-edition plaque inside the vehicle and the „PORSCHE“ lettering on the rear. The running second dial features “911 Sport Classic Limited Series" in gold lettering. All of these intricate details are protected by sevenfold anti-glare sapphire crystal with a hard coating, which does not give off any disturbing reflections.
A 60'S DESIGN - BUT WITH THE EXPERTISE OF GENERATIONS OF WATCHMAKERS.
While, in a sports car, the wheels transfer the drive power from the engine to the road, the winding rotor of the Chronograph 911 Sport Classic plays an equally pivotal role. Every movement of the wrist winds the mechanism – automatically. Ideal for when you are cornering. The 360-degree winding rotor’s design is based on the wheels of the 911 Sport Classic and finished in black (high-gloss). The Sport Classic winding rotor is completed by a cover cap in the design of the central lock with the historic Porsche crest. For even more fascination every minute.

Accurate to the second: the mechanical Porsche Design chronograph calibre WERK 01.200, with flyback function, is at work on the inside. The calibre is crafted by experienced masters in their field, who carefully assemble it by hand from hundreds of individual parts in the Porsche watch factory in Solothurn, Switzerland. Its high accuracy means that it has met the exacting testing standards for chronometers and obtained COSC certification, a title awarded to only the most precise watch movements. The movement’s flyback function brings starting, stopping and resetting together into a single operation. The pushers, which feature laser engraving of their “START/STOP” and “RESET” functions, emphasise the chronograph’s functionality – and show that perfection really is timeless.
