Works perfect and literally a snap to put in. I had the old CD holder in this spot and this cubby allows for storage of remotes, garage door openers and hand sanitizer. Well worth it.

The price was right and the part performs as intended. As others have noted, the cassette storage removal is easily accomplished by accessing a grip by opening the drawers. The installation of this replacement is literally a snap. What I would caution others about is that if you have ANY plans to remove the upper storage shelf, that you have just installed, you will likely find it easier to remove the overlying head unit to make things simpler. I know this from personal experience.

I tried to use some generic DIN shelves, and tried to make something, and eventually gave up and bought this obnoxiously expensive piece of plastic, which worked perfectly and was a snap (literally) to install. I wish I'd done that first. Sometimes spending money to get the right thing is worth it, and this is one of those times, IMHO.

My 996 came with the CD storage in this location. Of course this is old technology and I never used it, but needed more storage space. This is a Porsche produced item and fits as a factory part. Very pleased

Fits in place of the CD storage unit. I had seen how to videos on you tube and so thought this was an easy change out. Indeed it was. It took all of a few seconds and we now have a storage area in what was an unused waste of space. Love it.
