Bought the part to help a 07 Porsche 911 owner who recently didn’t know her own strength and popped a plastic piece off or the lever. Took me just about a hour to disassemble and reassemble! Works like a charm!
Great price, more challenging because of design change

My 2008 Cayman had the different style of connector between the lever and the cable. I hadn't read the prior reviews about this, and I had assumed that I could do the whole job in 45 minutes until I noticed that difference. The job took a lot longer due to having to replace the cable to the door latch. Word of caution, the two screws that secure the latch in the door appear to be Torx unless you look closely. Instead, it's 12 point Allen socket head, and you'll strip it if you try to use a Torx bit. Huge savings, though doing yourself since the part is only $30.
Works great

Ordered and got it quickly, surprised at the cost id shipping, $12.99 was the cheapest for a $30.00 part. Was able to get it installed and working using the old cable. Was going to us the new cable but couldn't see an easy way to replace it. Recommend watching several you tube videos and not just the one link they provide depending on your car model. Overall works great.
Replacement Door Handle Lever for 987.2 Cayman
5 out of 5 stars.

Genuine Porsche part, decent price and quality. It did take Suncoast a total of 3 business days to ship this out of their warehouse plus another day or so of physical travel before it arrived. Fits perfectly in my 987.2 Cayman as this part uses the same style of door cable connector, so it's a direct replacement without needing to replace the included cable. However, I believe if you have a 987.1 or 997.1, this .2 part will have a revised door cable connector design that won't be an exact match for the .1 style door cable connector. No biggie, just have to use your old cable connector portion of your door lever if that's the case. Anyway, it was not a difficult repair for me as my Cayman uses the .2 style cable connector. Now the interior door handle works like new and I fixed it myself for 30 bucks + tax and shipping :-) It would have costed at least 200 bucks or more at the dealer or independent garage I'm sure. There are many YouTube tutorials explaining how this can be done. This is the video I used, I'm not affiliated with their channel, just found the instructions in this video very useful: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fFDOKRFI464&list=PL7YL8GulQl9PN5xmAIyuiGmr-20erovm2&index=28&t=1s&ab_channel=EatSleepDrive
911 door handle lever

this part exactly matched my OEM door handle lever. I was able to swap this part out with the OEM part that broke in 1 hour. I was very pleased that the part matched up exactly. Some of the 997 levers have a different connection for the cable. The OEM has a Z connection and this new part has a barrel connection. I was able to swap the part from the OEM on to the new lever eliminating the need to change the cable. If you can doe this it will save you hours of work.

The existing cable won't work with this lever #997.555.381.03 which came with the kit, the OEM unit #997.555.381.01 was deprecated. Replacing the old cable is difficult and would take another 2-3 hrs. Work around the issue by swapping the lever, get the spring back into position took time and patient...lot of. But over all it work fine.

Porsche Parts Warranty Information — Suncoast Porsche

Understanding your warranty coverage is important. Below is a complete overview of warranty terms for Genuine Porsche OEM parts, aftermarket parts, and closeout items purchased from Suncoast Porsche and SuncoastParts.com.

Warranty Coverage by Product Type

Genuine Porsche OEM Parts — 2-Year Warranty

All Genuine Porsche OEM parts purchased from Suncoast Porsche or SuncoastParts.com come with a 2-year, unlimited mileage, parts-only warranty beginning on the date of purchase.

If your parts are installed at an authorized Porsche Service Center, both parts and labor warranty coverage may apply if the part is deemed defective within the 2-year warranty period. Coverage varies by location — please check with your local Porsche dealer prior to installation to confirm their specific warranty participation, as each Porsche Center is independently owned and operated.

Important warranty notes for online purchases:

  • Labor, diagnostic, and installation fees are not covered when parts are purchased online from SuncoastParts.com or Suncoast Porsche, unless the parts are installed by an authorized Porsche Service Center
  • Warranty claims must be processed in person at an authorized Porsche Service Center
  • Warranty service is honored at any authorized Porsche dealer in the United States, however some dealers may decline warranty claims for parts purchased online or from another dealership — always verify with your local dealer before installation
  • If a warranty claim is approved and the part was not installed by a Porsche Service Center, installation of the replacement part remains the customer's responsibility
  • Suncoast Porsche and SuncoastParts.com are not liable for any diagnostic, labor, or installation fees charged by another Porsche Service Center

Aftermarket & Performance Parts

Warranty coverage for aftermarket and performance parts varies by manufacturer. Most carry a 1-year limited warranty. Contact us for specific warranty details on any aftermarket product. Please note that diagnostic time and labor costs for warranty replacements are not covered.

Take-Off & Closeout Parts

All take-off and closeout parts are sold as-is with no warranty and are not eligible for return. Pricing on these items reflects their as-is condition.

What This Warranty Does Not Cover

The following situations and conditions are explicitly excluded from warranty coverage:

  • Improper Installation or Misuse — Damage resulting from incorrect installation, negligence, unauthorized alteration, or accident. This includes any use in racing, competition, or motorsport applications
  • Lack of Proper Maintenance — Damage caused by failure to follow the vehicle's recommended Maintenance Schedule, or failure to use the correct fluids, fuel, oil, or lubricants as specified in the Owner's Manual. Proof of proper maintenance is the owner's responsibility — retain all service receipts in case questions arise
  • Consequential or Economic Losses — Towing fees, rental vehicles, loss of use, loss of time, inconvenience, or any other indirect economic losses
  • Vehicles Outside the USA & Canada — Parts installed on vehicles registered or primarily operated outside of the United States or Canada are not covered under this warranty

How to Obtain Warranty Service

Installed by an Authorized Porsche Dealer

If your parts were originally installed by an authorized Porsche dealer, warranty repairs may be performed by that same dealer or any other authorized Porsche Service Center in the United States. Please allow a reasonable timeframe for repairs after delivering your vehicle to the dealership.

Installed by an Independent Repair Shop

Please be aware: All warranty claims must be inspected, performed, and documented by factory-trained Porsche technicians at an authorized Porsche dealership. Work performed at an independent repair shop does not qualify for warranty consideration. If warranty coverage is a priority, we strongly recommend having your parts installed at an authorized Porsche Service Center.

Documentation Requirements for Warranty Claims

To process a warranty claim, the servicing Porsche dealer will require:

  • Your original sales receipt or order confirmation from SuncoastParts.com or Suncoast Porsche
  • A completed warranty certificate
  • Proof of proper vehicle maintenance history (if applicable)

Suncoast Porsche retains sales records on file for two years. If you need a copy of your receipt, contact us and we will provide it promptly.

Additional Warranty Terms & Legal Disclaimers

This warranty provides you with specific legal rights. You may also have additional rights that vary by state.

Porsche does not authorize any individual or organization to create additional obligations or liabilities beyond those stated in this warranty. Any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose is limited in duration to the term of this written warranty. The exclusive remedy under this warranty is the repair or replacement of the defective part.

Suncoast Porsche and SuncoastParts.com shall not be liable for any incidental or consequential damages arising from a breach of this written warranty or any implied warranty.

Some states do not permit limitations on implied warranty duration or the exclusion of incidental or consequential damages — the above limitations may not apply in your state. Additionally, installation of certain parts or accessories may affect your Porsche New Vehicle Warranty. Please consult your authorized Porsche dealer for full terms, or contact us with any questions.
