It’s a well-known fact that too much exhaust backpressure can cause a decrease in performance from your 996 Turbo. Unfortunately, in order to keep cars compliant with noise regulations, manufacturers are forced to equip them with restrictive exhaust systems that keep engine noise from making it out of the tailpipes. The 996 Turbo is no exception. Because of its rear-engine design, the 996 Turbo’s exhaust has to accomplish this job in a very short distance, making it extremely restrictive. Tubi Style created their 996 Turbo system to address the shortcomings of the factory system head on. This system features Tubi’s high-flow 200 cell race cats, which allow nearly 60 percent greater exhaust flow then the stock 600 cell units. It also includes Tubi’s signature free-flowing center mufflers that not only offer far less restriction then the original muffler, but also create the signature Tubi sound that makes their systems so easily recognizable. One thing that plagues many aftermarket exhaust systems is that dreaded interior drone that makes phone calls and conversations nearly impossible. While the Tubi Style system certainly adds an aggressive tone, it’s never intrusive or obnoxious in any way. The combined additional flow from the high-flow cats and mufflers translates to over 35+ hp on an otherwise stock car. Bang for buck, the Tubi System is a phenomenal value.
