2024-2027 (9Y0.2)
Porsche gave the third-generation Cayenne a substantial mid-cycle refresh for 2024, and the changes went well beyond the reworked front and rear fascias. The cabin picked up a Taycan-inspired dashboard with a new curved digital instrument cluster, while nearly every gas and hybrid powertrain in the lineup saw a meaningful update, most notably the Cayenne S trading its twin-turbo V6 for a proper twin-turbo V8 for the first time in this generation.
The base Cayenne's single-turbo 3.0-liter V6 grew to 348 hp, while the Cayenne S adopted a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 at 468 hp, a substantial jump from the outgoing V6-powered S. The plug-in hybrid range expanded to three tiers: the Cayenne E-Hybrid pairs that same base V6 with a 174 hp electric motor for 463 hp combined, the Cayenne S E-Hybrid sits between the S and Turbo E-Hybrid at 512 hp, and the range-topping Turbo E-Hybrid combines a reworked 4.0-liter V8 with the same electric motor for 729 hp and 700 lb-ft of torque, making it the most powerful plug-in hybrid Cayenne yet. All E-Hybrid models gained a larger 25.9 kWh battery and an 11 kW onboard charger, cutting charge times to under 2.5 hours on a home wallbox. The GTS returned for 2025 after sitting out the initial refresh, using a 493 hp version of the 4.0-liter V8 and borrowing chassis hardware, including front-axle pivot bearings and a separate AWD cooling circuit, from the Turbo GT. That Turbo GT remains the range's outright flagship and the only gas-only model still offered exclusively in Coupe form, now making 650 hp and 626 lb-ft from a heavily reinforced version of the twin-turbo V8, enough for a 3.1 second sprint to 60 mph and the current SUV lap record at the Nürburgring Nordschleife.
