The Cayenne GTS returned to the second-generation 958 lineup two years after the generation's 2011 launch, slotting in as the sportier alternative between the Cayenne S and Cayenne Turbo. It carried forward the GTS nameplate first introduced on the Cayenne in the 957 generation, building on that model's reputation, which accounted for 17 percent of first-generation Cayenne sales despite not being offered from the start.
Power came from a naturally aspirated 4.8-liter V8 producing 420 hp and 380 lb-ft of torque, a 20 hp bump over the contemporary Cayenne S, paired with a dedicated version of the standard 8-speed Tiptronic S automatic and all-wheel drive. The GTS reached 60 mph in 5.4 seconds and topped out at 162 mph, making it the first Cayenne to offer Porsche's Sport Chrono system.
The GTS distinguished itself with a Cayenne Turbo-derived hood and front fascia, wider wheel arches, more prominent side sills, 20-inch RS Spyder wheels, a sport exhaust system, and a ride height dropped 20 mm for sharper handling. Inside, it featured standard leather and Alcantara trim with eight-way adjustable GTS sport seats.
