The Cayenne GTS covers two different engine configurations across this window, reflecting the mid-cycle facelift Porsche gave the second-generation 958 Cayenne. For the 2014 model year, the GTS carried over the naturally aspirated 4.8-liter V8 producing 420 hp. Starting with the 2015 model year facelift (958.2), Porsche dropped the V8 in favor of a 3.6-liter twin-turbo V6 producing 440 hp and 442 lb-ft of torque, a change that carried through the end of production in 2018.
Despite losing two cylinders, the twin-turbo V6 GTS was quicker than its naturally aspirated V8 predecessor, reaching 62 mph in 5.2 seconds, or 5.1 seconds with the optional Sport Chrono Package, and topping out at 163 mph. Both versions used the standard 8-speed Tiptronic S automatic transmission and all-wheel drive.
As the driver-focused variant of the lineup, the GTS came standard with Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), a sport-tuned suspension with a lower ride height than other Cayenne models, a standard sport exhaust system, and unique styling cues including blacked-out trim and side skirts to set it apart from the Cayenne S and Turbo.
