The second-generation Taycan arrived for 2025 with the kind of update that reads bigger than a mid-cycle refresh: more power across every trim, a genuinely reworked chassis, and for the 4S specifically, the debut of Porsche's Active Ride suspension system trickling down from the flagship. It's become the trim testers point to as the new sweet spot in the lineup, delivering Turbo-adjacent performance without the Turbo price tag.
With the standard Performance Battery, the 4S makes up to 509 hp continuous, jumping to 590 hp on overboost with Launch Control when paired with the optional Performance Battery Plus, and 523 lb-ft of torque. Independent testing has clocked 0 to 60 mph in as little as 3.1 seconds with Launch Control, quicker than Porsche's own conservative estimate. The bigger news is on the chassis side: Active Ride replaces the previous anti-roll bars with hydraulic actuators at each corner, actively counteracting body roll and pitch in real time rather than just damping it, a system that debuted on the Taycan Turbo GT before filtering down to the 4S. Range improved meaningfully too, with the new 97 kWh usable battery pack rated up to 315 miles depending on wheel size, and DC fast charging now peaks at 320 kW for a 10 to 80 percent charge in around 18 minutes. Cross Turismo and Sport Turismo versions share the same powertrain and battery options, with torque rated marginally lower at 512 lb-ft on the wagon-bodied cars.
