The second-generation Taycan's entry point actually became two distinct cars for 2025. The base rear-wheel-drive Taycan continues as Porsche's most affordable EV, sedan-only just like the first generation, while the new Taycan 4 nameplate adds all-wheel drive to that same power output and, for the first time at this trim level, opens up Sport Turismo and Cross Turismo body styles at the entry price point.
Both share the same single-motor-derived output figures: 402 hp continuous, rising to 429 hp on overboost, with the RWD sedan putting down 309 lb-ft and the AWD Taycan 4 stepping up to 431 lb-ft on the sedan (449 lb-ft on Cross Turismo, reflecting the added front motor's contribution). Porsche quotes 0 to 60 mph in 4.5 seconds for the RWD sedan and 4.4 seconds for the Taycan 4, a modest but real gain from the extra traction of the front axle rather than any additional power. That front motor is designed to electrically decouple during steady-state driving to preserve efficiency, then re-engage within milliseconds under acceleration or heavy regenerative braking. Both variants get the lineup-wide 2025 updates: a new, lighter rear motor, standard adaptive air suspension, up to 320 kW DC fast-charging capability, and the option of the larger Performance Battery Plus pack for improved range.
