Taycan 4S (G1)

The 4S was there from the very beginning, launching alongside the base Taycan for the 2020 model year and quickly becoming the volume seller in the lineup. It's the trim most enthusiasts point to as the best balance in the entire Taycan range, quick enough to feel genuinely fast without the price jump that comes with Turbo badging, and it established the sedan-first identity the Cross Turismo wouldn't join for another model year.

Like its wagon sibling, the 4S offers two battery configurations. The standard battery produces 429 hp continuous and 522 hp on overboost with Launch Control, while the optional Performance Battery Plus raises output to 483 hp continuous and 562 hp on overboost, along with 479 lb-ft of torque. Porsche quotes 0 to 60 mph in approximately 3.8 seconds with Performance Battery Plus, a touch quicker than the Cross Turismo version thanks to the sedan's lighter curb weight. Torque vectoring across the rear axle comes standard, and the 2-speed rear transaxle carries over unchanged from the rest of the lineup, giving the 4S both a stronger launch and better high-speed cruising efficiency than a single-speed setup would allow.
