The Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid launched for the 2018 model year, arriving as Porsche's first hybrid model positioned as an outright flagship rather than an efficiency-focused variant, combining the Panamera Turbo's V8 with the hybrid system developed for the 4 E-Hybrid. It topped the entire 971 lineup, above even the standard Turbo, and was the most powerful production Porsche offered at the time of its launch.
The powertrain paired the twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 from the Panamera Turbo, producing 550 hp on its own, with the 136 hp electric motor from the 4 E-Hybrid, for a combined system output of 680 hp and 626 lb-ft of torque. Mated to the standard 8-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission and all-wheel drive, the Turbo S E-Hybrid reached 60 mph in 3.2 seconds and topped out at 192 mph, making it both the quickest and most powerful Panamera of its generation.
Power for the electric motor came from the same 14.1 kWh lithium-ion battery used in the 4 E-Hybrid, delivering roughly 31 miles of electric-only range under European testing standards. The Turbo S E-Hybrid came standard with adaptive air suspension, distinctive electric-green brake calipers, and green "hybrid" badging on the fenders and trunk lid, along with the full suite of chassis technology available across the Turbo lineup.
