The Panamera GTS carried into the facelifted 970.2 generation for the 2014 model year, continuing as the naturally aspirated, driver-focused alternative to the turbocharged S and Turbo models, positioned as more of a sport sedan than a grand tourer within the lineup. As part of the facelift, output climbed to 440 hp, up from 430 hp on the pre-facelift version, keeping the GTS as the largest naturally aspirated engine offered anywhere in the Panamera range.
Power came from a 4.8-liter naturally aspirated V8 producing 440 hp and 384 lb-ft of torque, paired with the standard 7-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission and all-wheel drive. The GTS reached 60 mph in 4.2 seconds and topped out at 179 mph, just a couple tenths behind the turbocharged Turbo through the same run despite giving up forced induction entirely.
The GTS sat 10 mm lower than standard Panamera models on a specially tuned chassis with adaptive air suspension and Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) standard, along with upgraded brakes and a distinctive exhaust note that became one of the model's signature traits, thanks to the lack of turbochargers muffling the intake and exhaust sound. The facelift also brought standard bi-xenon headlights, an available full-LED lighting package, and revised front and rear styling shared across the lineup.
