The Macan Turbo launched alongside the S as one of the two original variants when Porsche introduced the Macan for the 2015 model year, immediately establishing itself as the range-topping performance flagship. It remained the most powerful production Macan available until the Performance Package arrived to push things further still.
Power comes from a 3.6-liter twin-turbocharged V6, the largest engine ever offered in a Macan, making 400 hp and 406 lb-ft. A 7-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission is standard, paired with all-wheel drive, no manual was ever offered on any Macan. Porsche quotes 0 to 60 mph in 4.4 seconds with Sport Chrono, and a 165 mph top speed. Standard equipment included navigation, Bose audio, an Alcantara headliner, and active suspension, positioning the Turbo as the fully-loaded flagship within the lineup.
For 2017, Porsche introduced an optional Performance Package that pushed output further to 440 hp and 442 lb-ft entirely through software recalibration, no hardware changes to the turbochargers themselves were required. This package remains, to this day, the highest horsepower figure ever offered in any first-generation Macan. Beyond the added output, the Performance Package brought a genuinely different car: a newly developed brake system with 390mm front discs, 30mm larger than the standard Turbo's, a lowered body, a sport-tuned chassis, Sport Chrono, and a sport exhaust system, all bundled as standard equipment on package-equipped cars. Porsche quotes 0 to 60 mph in 4.2 seconds for these rare Performance Package cars, genuinely limited in production and highly sought after among Macan enthusiasts today.
