The Cayenne Electric launches as an entirely new addition to the lineup, marking the fourth generation of the Cayenne and Porsche's first fully electric version of the SUV. Built on an updated version of Porsche's 800-volt Premium Platform Electric architecture, it's sold alongside the third-generation gas and plug-in hybrid Cayenne models rather than replacing them, with the traditional combustion Cayenne expected to continue for several more years. Available in both standard SUV and Coupe body styles, the base Cayenne Electric sits below the Cayenne S Electric and range-topping Cayenne Turbo Electric.
The base model uses a dual-motor, all-wheel-drive setup producing 402 hp for everyday driving, rising to 435 hp and 615 lb-ft of torque with launch control engaged. That's enough to reach 60 mph in 4.5 seconds, putting it in the same performance ballpark as the outgoing gas-powered Cayenne S.
All Cayenne Electric models share a 108 kWh usable battery pack supporting 800-volt DC fast charging at up to 400 kW, allowing a 10 to 80 percent charge in as little as 16 minutes under ideal conditions. The car includes both a NACS and a J1772 charging port, and an optional wireless inductive charging system is available. Standard equipment includes two-chamber, two-valve adaptive air suspension with PASM, with Porsche's Active Ride suspension available as an upgrade.
