The Cayenne GTS returned for the 2021 model year in both standard SUV and Coupe body styles, bringing back a naturally tuned V8 character that enthusiasts had missed since the previous generation switched to a turbocharged V6. Sitting between the Cayenne S and Cayenne Turbo in the lineup, the GTS is Porsche's enthusiast-focused trim, blending everyday usability with a sharper, more engaged driving feel.
Both body styles share the same 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8, a detuned version of the engine found in the Cayenne Turbo, making 453 hp and 457 lb-ft of torque. Paired with an 8-speed Tiptronic S automatic and standard Porsche Traction Management all-wheel drive, the GTS reaches 60 mph in 4.5 seconds, or 4.2 seconds with Performance Start as part of the Sport Chrono Package (standard on the Coupe, optional on the standard body). Top speed for both is 168 mph.
The GTS distinguishes itself from lesser Cayenne models with a standard Sport Exhaust system, a revised suspension tune using updated PASM dampers and standard three-chamber air suspension, and GTS-specific exterior and interior design elements. The result is a noticeably lower ride height and tighter, more connected handling without sacrificing the everyday comfort Cayenne owners expect.
