The GTS badge has always meant the enthusiast's sweet spot, and with the 992.2 generation, it's also where Porsche chose to introduce something the 911 had never had in 60 years of production: a hybrid powertrain. Porsche revealed the Carrera GTS T-Hybrid on May 28, 2024, with the GTS T-Hybrid arriving as the flagship announcement of the 992.2 facelift, and US deliveries beginning for the 2025 model year across Coupe, Cabriolet, Carrera 4 GTS, and Targa 4 GTS body styles.
Porsche didn't just bolt an electric motor onto the old engine, it replaced the 992.1 GTS's 3.0-liter twin-turbo entirely with a newly developed 3.6-liter single-turbo flat-six. A permanent-magnet electric motor sits integrated into the 8-speed PDK itself, and the single eTurbo is electrically spun rather than exhaust-driven, virtually eliminating lag. On its own, the combustion engine makes 478 hp and 420 lb-ft. With the electric motor contributing its share, total system output lands at 532 hp and 449 lb-ft, enough for a 2.9 second run to 60 mph and a 194 mph top speed, improvements of 0.3 seconds and several mph over the outgoing car.
The chassis picked up real upgrades to match. PASM Sport drops ride height 10mm versus the standard Carrera, rear-axle steering is standard, and Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control now runs an electro-hydraulic roll control system tied into the same 400-volt architecture powering the hybrid hardware. Tires grow to 245/35 ZR 20 up front and 315/30 ZR 21 in back. One change worth noting for anyone cross-shopping the outgoing car: PDK is now standard across the board, the manual GTS did not carry over to this generation.
