About this model 911 GT3 & GT3 Touring

Porsche picked a fitting moment to update the GT3, timing the 992.2 reveal on October 18, 2024 to the 25th anniversary of the modern GT3 line, which traces back to the 996-generation original in 1999. US deliveries began for the 2025 model year, with the winged GT3 and the wingless GT3 Touring launching together as they always have, both sharing the same drivetrain and focus.

The naturally aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six carries over largely unchanged, still spinning to 9,000 rpm and producing 502 hp, but it now breathes through racier camshafts borrowed from the GT3 RS for sharper response higher in the rev range. Torque dips slightly to 331 lb-ft from the outgoing car's 346, a byproduct of tightening emissions regulations rather than any loss of character. Buyers still choose between a 6-speed manual or 7-speed PDK, both GT-specific gearboxes, and both the GT3 and GT3 Touring remain the only 992.2 models in the entire lineup to offer a manual transmission, or to keep the 7-speed PDK rather than moving to the new 8-speed unit used elsewhere. 0 to 60 comes in at 3.2 seconds for the GT3, 3.7 for the Touring, with the Touring's top speed edging out the winged car at 194 mph versus 193.

Real news for GT3 buyers this generation, Porsche now offers a genuine Weissach Package on the GT3 itself, previously reserved for the GT3 RS, adding a carbon fiber roof and carbon endplates on the rear wing along with a new Lightweight package for buyers chasing every pound. The cabin picks up the 992.2-wide fully digital instrument cluster, and for the first time, rear seats became available as an option on the Touring.

  • Transmission: 6-speed manual or 7-speed PDK, the only 992.2 models offering either
