About this model 911 Carrera

The base Carrera has always been the entry point to the 911 experience, and Porsche used the 992.2 refresh to make sure it didn't feel like an afterthought next to the hybridized GTS grabbing headlines. Porsche revealed the updated lineup on May 28, 2024, with the base Carrera launching alongside the GTS T-Hybrid announcement, and US deliveries beginning in fall 2024 for the 2025 model year. Unlike prior generations, the 2025 Carrera launches as rear-wheel drive only, in Coupe or Cabriolet form, with all-wheel drive reserved for higher trims further up the range.

Under the decklid, Porsche relocated the intercooler above the engine, borrowing the layout used on Turbo models, and fitted larger turbochargers adapted from the previous-generation GTS. The result is a 3.0-liter twin-turbo flat-six now making 388 hp and 331 lb-ft, up from the outgoing car, enough for a 3.9 second run to 60 mph, or 3.7 seconds with the optional Sport Chrono Package, and a 183 mph top speed. Power routes exclusively through the 8-speed PDK, no manual is offered on the base Carrera, that's reserved for the Carrera T and GT3 further up the lineup.

Standard equipment carries over the fundamentals that make any 911 feel special: adaptive dampers through Porsche Active Suspension Management, a fully digital instrument cluster, and Apple CarPlay integration. It's the car Porsche builds for buyers who want the genuine 911 driving experience without chasing every last horsepower figure up the trim ladder.
