About this model 911 GT3 RS (991.2)

The 991.2 GT3 RS launched in early 2018, the last purely naturally aspirated 911 RS to arrive before the GT department leaned further into hardware from the GT2 RS lineage. It carries the same 4.0-liter flat-six architecture found in the standard 991.2 GT3, but tuned further, producing 520 hp and 346 lb-ft, revving to a 9,000 rpm redline, and it holds the distinction of being the most powerful naturally aspirated 911 Porsche had ever built at the time.

Power routes exclusively through a 7-speed PDK, no manual is offered on the RS, that's reserved for the standard GT3. That combination is good for a 0 to 60 mph run of roughly 3.0 seconds and a 193 mph top speed. Porsche put those numbers to the test on April 16, 2018, with factory driver Kevin Estre lapping the Nürburgring Nordschleife in 6:56.4 in a Weissach Package car on Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tires, a full 16 seconds quicker than the outgoing 991.1 GT3 RS and just 9 seconds behind the far more powerful 991.2 GT2 RS.

The Weissach Package made its debut on this generation of GT3 RS, adding a carbon fiber roof and hood, magnesium wheels, and a titanium roll cage in markets outside the US, shaving weight to help back up that lap time. A separate Clubsport Package added a steel roll cage, fire extinguisher, and harness-ready front seats as standard equipment in many markets, for buyers planning genuine track use. Curb weight lands around 3,153 lbs, extensive carbon fiber and magnesium use throughout the body and wheels keeping the car as light as its aero-heavy bodywork allows.
