The Cayenne S entered the 958.2 facelift for the 2015 model year with a newly downsized engine, dropping the previous naturally aspirated 4.8-liter V8 in favor of a 3.6-liter twin-turbo V6 developed entirely in-house by Porsche. The new engine produced 420 hp and 406 lb-ft of torque, a gain of 20 hp and 37 lb-ft over the outgoing V8, despite the smaller displacement and two fewer cylinders.
Paired with the standard 8-speed Tiptronic S automatic and all-wheel drive, the Cayenne S reaches 62 mph in 5.2 seconds, or 5.1 seconds with the optional Sport Chrono Package, nearly half a second quicker than its V8 predecessor, and tops out at 161 mph.
The 958.2 facelift brought a sharper front and rear design with new LED daytime running lights, more angular headlights, and a revised rear profile, along with the latest Porsche Communication Management (PCM) infotainment system inside. PASM adaptive suspension remained available as an option across the lineup.
