In 1976, Porsche introduced the Transaxle Powertrain Configuration with the Type 924, and installed it in a new way. The engine is front mounted but the transmission is located in the rear. On the one hand, the ideal sports cars are, on the other hand, a break in tradition Porsche's history: the transaxle models - in the types 924, 938, 944 and 968.
